BCID status in TX log shows how many programmes in TX logs have Content ID populated correctly.

Following categories are quantified:

  • Blank Content IDs
  • Content ID submitted via XML - How many programmes have Content ID that was submitted in CDMF by Broadcaster using XML submission
  • Content ID autogenerated in CDMF – How many programmes have Content ID which was autogenerated by Kantar (not submitted in CDMF by Broadcaster)

Recommendations and consequences of non-compliance

Recommendations

Submitting TX logs with populated Content IDs by TX+3 ensures that content metadata will be processed in time for accurate Dovetail reporting. It is also recommended that same Content ID’s are submitted via XML on or before the day of TX to minimize the percentage of autogenerated entries.

Consequences of non-compliance

It is important to know that if there is no Content ID supplied in TX logs for a given programme then no viewing can be reported for non-TV sets.

Playtime in summary and detail version is based on Content IDs available in first successfully submitted TX log:

  • If same Content is broadcast on multiple stations, the playtime will be duplicated among them
    • Note that in 4 screen dashboard, all the viewing will be attributed to the version of the content that has duration greater than any other by more than 5 minute and if within the 5 minute difference then the station with the earliest transmission
  • Playtime will reflect measured viewing against that particular Content ID and will not include other versions (that can be linked via Parent BCID)
  • If a station appears in the ‘Summary by unique records count’ table but does not appear in the ‘Summary by playtime’ table then there were no viewings (in Census) for the Content IDs that were in those TX logs.

Please note that for Blank Content ID column there will never be viewed or calibrated playtimes even when there is a number of records counted (in ‘Summary by unique record count’ table). This is because there needs to be Content ID in TX logs to:

  1. Assign a content ID to census viewing from live tag
  2. produce calibrated playtime in ONE.

Calibrated playtime is what gets displayed in the 4-screen dashboard.

In summary reports, columns will be colour coded as follows:

Red Colour

  • Blank content ID – percentage by record count
  • Content ID autogenerated in CDMF – percentage by record count
  • Blank Content ID – viewed playtime
  • Content ID autogenerated in CDMF – viewed playtime
  • Blank Content ID – calibrated playtime
  • Content ID autogenerated in CDMF – calibrated playtime

Green Colour

  • Content ID submitted via XML – percentage by record count
  • Content ID submitted via XML – viewed playtime
  • Content ID submitted via XML – calibrated playtime

Red columns require attention and the goal is to minimize percentage or records and playtime in this group.

Detail report only contains records where Content ID is blank or autogenerated in CDMF. Programmes with Content ID’s submitted via XML (green column from the summary report) are not included in detail report.

Data in detail report is sorted based on BCID status in following order:

  1. Programmes with blank Content ID
  2. Programmes with autogenerated Content IDs
  • No labels
